Wedding Cake Topper

My friend Patricia asked if I could help make the topper for her wedding cake. Although I was admittedly a bit nervous since it’s kind of an important detail. Unfortunately, I don’t have many in process photos, but it was very straightforward. She already had a nice vector image she wanted to use, so it was just a matter of converting it for the laser cutter and adding spikes to hold it in the cake. There wasn’t enough contrast to really see the shape and text in the first prototype I made, so I painted etched inlays in gold, and Patricia painted the back.

As a bonus, I also helped make a sign for her reception donut wall… again I don’t have many build photos, but it was just a smaller, simplified version of my infinity table.
